Book Reviews

January 2013

George F., Youngstown OH – “…I got a chance over the holiday break to read or actually devour your book.  I read it in two sittings.  I particularly like the style you chose to put your book together.  The combination of narrative and fact based detail was perfect…I kept wanting to know about the next series.

I also like the way you spent four chapters to not only explain the premise but also providing a solid concise look at some of the players in the book.  I can’t wait for the next book!

October 2014

Harvey K., Philadelphia PA – “Brilliant “what if” simulation!  Brings to life the talent of black baseball (Negro Leagues) that the Major Leagues chose to ignore for so long.  Also, enjoyable to see the early Major League players (1880s -1920s) teamed with modern day players (1970s-80s).  Look forward to sequel.

Book ReviewJanuary 2016

Richard M., Middleboro MA – This was a fun book to read, reminded me of reading the sports section and getting a reporter’s view of the game.  Nice to see how my heroes did against players from another time.  Great to get all the statistics at the end of each series to really see how each player did (Black Ball Stars and Major League Stars).  Looking forward to the sequel.

May 2016

Kenny B., Stoughton MA – “This book is great for baseball fans and stats lovers. The author’s passion for the game comes through, and I liked getting a glimpse of how Negro League players might have stacked up and competed against their Major League Baseball peers. I assume from the title that there’s more to come, and I’d like to read how the rest of the games turn out.”

June 2016

Connor B., Wareham MA – “Uncle Bob, I have read the book twice!  I cannot wait until Book Two comes out!
